"The flow of a river is synonymous with the quality of life you will find in in its surrounding community. "
Rivers lend to having a living historical enigma to them, leading to legendary tales, unforgettable events, and undying mystique that eludes all that are in its presence and the Truckee River is no exception. Not long ago Trout that rivaled King Salmon in size frenzied the Truckee River during spawning season, and these were pursued by California Grizzlies that exceeded Kodiak Bears in sheer size and tenacity. These same Trout were also revered as a delicacy with no equal, as revealed in the writings of Samuel Clemens.
The Truckee River today no longer runs unhindered, and has been altered by diversion dams to meet irrigation and power demands, well supplementation for municipal water supply, and numerous other modifications due to modern water needs. Through all of this the Truckee still flows as an untamed and spirited river, and her propensity to nurture Bear sized Brown and Rainbow Trout has not ceased. The Truckee’s relentless perseverance to survive is reflected in the spirit of her resident Trout, given that hooking into one of these trophies is not an easy task by any means, leading into her sublime nickname of “The Big Two Face River”…
Bearfish operates as a unified communication channel, guide service, outfitter, and brokerage in effort to preserve the integrity, legacy, and future of the Truckee River as a Wild Rainbow, Brown Trout, and impending Pyramid Run Lahontan Cuththroat Trout Fishery for anglers to enjoy in the generations to come.
This Trophy Brown was caught using a method long thought as "Behind the Times".
